closing years of the 14th century, this medieval Wealden Hall on the
main road from Hastings to London has sheltered and refreshed travellers
for 6 centuries. As a public house, the Seven Stars Inn sells locally-made Harvey's
Real Sussex Ales and serves real Sussex food.
Any building of such antiquity has a reputation for being haunted, and
the Seven Stars has its own collection of rumoured spirits. Despite
there being no recent sightings, the Seven Stars is a popular spot for
the spectrally-curious. Most seekers after spirits settle for a Scotch.
Don't miss our Sunday Roast Lunches, especially in good weather. Booking is essential, as these great value meals sell out fast. We welcome families and dogs, and are an ideal base for explorers on foot, bike or car who've come to see this lovely part of the English countryside. We have our own car park behind the large beer garden. We have a good wine list and can do catering for functions, here or nearby. For those who enjoy the pleasure of a smoke, we have a comfortable and sheltered smoking area in the garden that will keep you dry even in inclement weather.
